Prayer to the Archangel Michael

St. Michael the Archangel,
defend me from battle;
Be my safeguard
against the malice and snares
of the negative seen or unseen energy forces.

Rebuke the negative energy forces oh God
I humbly beseech you,
and do thou oh prince of the heavenly host,
by the Divine Power of God
thrust into the darkness,
all the negative seen and unseen energy forces,
and all of the ugly spirits who wander about the world
seeking the ruination of souls.

In Jesus Christ's name I pray,
who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit
One God
forever and ever.

Amen~

The Painted Canberra Sky

The Painted Canberra Sky:

1. Autumn's mottled leaves flashed orange and red
2. Against the painted sky, turquoise and solemn
3. And there is was, above, transcendant,
4. A speck a spot, a circling black dot
5. On that rough hewn Canberra canvas

Friendship

A friend wrote (so i wouldn't forget) me a note today (in part below);

'one spiritual xperience
is worth a thousand
material possessions.

You are a good soul & i think you
should trust yourself more.'

'there is always a minority who uphold the light for the travellers on the spiritual path, and Sufis are within this group.'

'Man is compartmentalised and lost in the never ending play of mental images, concepts and psychic and emotional tensions of the personality. This is the root of all our unhappiness. Inner happiness is only achieved by being out of the state of fragmentation and being in the state of wholeness. Man therefore needs to become whole. It is in this state of wholeness that we can experience the oneness and unity with God. This is the inner meaning of 'Tawhid' which is the unity of existence and the goal of the Sufi path.'

i never stopped loving you

'i never stopped loving you' - anon, the most beautiful thing i've ever read; it was stenciled on a canberra garden retaining wall in civic (the CBD). I think the best grafiti is actually important social commentary..

Property Inspection Report

The carbon copy sheet gusted in the breeze,
A series of words and corresponding abreviations,
That neatly and coincidentaly summarised his life story
Good, fair, clean, damaged, missing, broken, intact,
cracked, not visable, clean/marked,
And the painful irrefutable conclusion, 'IT...
- Tenant responsible'

The Tall

The Tall, the thin, the angry, the happy
The loved, the lost, the found, the fallen,
The proud, the poor, the rich, the good,
the bad, the bright, the slow, the quick,
All looking for the same thing.

Dr. Izzeldin Abuelasih

What an extraordinary humanitarian, after everything He's been through He's still giving..

Q: What you went through each day to get to your job made me angry just to read about. Waiting at the check points, being harassed, and then waiting hours for no good reason. You talk about this as "patience training."

A: Once you are angry you lose control. Then you regret things. So please take a step back. The strongest person is not the one who is strongest physically or [can fight or dominate], it's the one who behaves himself and controls his anger. It's not about fighting. We need to build this strength in our children; not to be impulsive. If we want to raise them to have good values, you have to admit when you make a mistake. I want to encourage them to work for those values.

Christmas lights

I found a set of Christmas tree lights today,
Tonight i plugged them in,
And made a heart on the lounge room floor,
In the darkness it was beautiful,
Listening to Snow patrol; watching the warmth,
Of the ebb and flow,
The rise and fall.

She

Over the rolling oceans through the breaking waves,
Through the foaming tumult that love by love's path paves,
Beyond the mountains veil, above the gathering storm
Through loves thorny brambles backwards I was torn,
Here i found Her waiting in my hearts brightest room,
That girl, that woman, that friend, that whole, that hearts warm womb.

Trade of refugees is a crime against humanity

May i suggest Australia is commiting crimes aganst humanity in suggesting we can pass off refugees seeking asylum to another nation... according to Amnesty international the conditions in Malaysia are criminal; i draw you attention to:

The 'Innocence of refugees unlawfully entering the country of refuge A refugee has the right to be free from penalties pertaining to the illegality of their entry to or presence within a country, if it can be shown that they acted in good faith- that is, if the refugee believes that there was ample cause for their illegal entry/presence, i.e. to escape threats upon their life or freedom, and if they swiftly declare their presence. This right is protected in Article 31:

"The Contracting States shall not impose penalties, on account of their illegal entry or presence, on refugees who, coming directly from a territory where their life or freedom was threatened in the sense of article 1, enter or are present in their territory without authorization, provided they present themselves without delay to the authorities and show good cause for their illegal entry or presence. (Article 31, (1) )

Dick and Jane (2)

Was heavy, that headstone,
full of love and memories,
That time has left broken and forgotten,
I turned it over, dusted it off,
and through the passage of time I heard them,
"Dick!" "Jane!" they cried with joy,
i heard them clear as day...

Dick and Jane (1)

i know now, about love
about what it means to be without it
What it means to know someone
What is means to mourn
what it can be

Prisoner's rights to vote

can't believe i heard on an interview on radio this morning (ABC i think) a suggestion that prisoners in Australia should have their right to vote taken from them.. Man, it's all about rehabilitation; You can not (WILL NOT) torture or deprice them of their human rights.. end of story, and to that guy that said that abhorent comment, you need to grow up and read a little about human rights and all the work the United Nations has been doing while you've been busy working on you red neck..

China's Human Rights Attrocities

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am a resident of Canberra and citizen of Australia, I wish to express my disgust and outrage regards the treatment of practioners of Falun Gong in your country. I was fortunate enough to discover China's disgraceful conduct regarding this group. I was made aware by a demonstraor that the Chinese government is denying human rights abuse; yet the testimony i have heard today is enough for me to write this 'letter' convinced everything i read and heard about was quite real. I am left disgusted and you should be ashamed of yourselves, dragging China's long and dignified history to such levels of depravity.

In case you haven't heard freedom to practice relgion is part of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights. you can find it here http://www.un.org/en/documents/udhr/index.shtml Reading it might help. I am further outraged reading that Falun Gong as a practice places a heavy emphasis on morality in its central tenets – Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. How on earth you might persecute a group that places an emphasis on Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance is beyond me, perhaps you might explain this?

Where is your humanity? your concern for the welfare and dignity of the people you apparently represent? I am attempting to contain my disgust and anger but am finding it difficult as any healthy human being should be. I will be persuing this matter further with the Australian government so far as any individual may in prosecuting my opposition to these crimes against humanity.

Outraged,
David Jenkins

torture

This mornings newsbrief included what i thought was an offensive and barbaric suggestion by US poiticians that there could be a re-introduction of torture (something called 'water-boarding') as a legitamate means to obtaining information from prisoners. This outrageous suggestion beggars belief. What on earth are we defending here if we have to resort to torture?! Thank goodness Obama had the sense to ban this torture back in 2009.

The Greens

Just been reading about the policies the greens have in Australia and i'm totally excited, reflects a few of the really important values i've developed over the past coulpe of years. You know i'd never have thought that i'd become intersted in politics but it's actually pretty interesting and obviously very important!.. Go Greens!

Execution

I had the misfortune this morning to listen to a radio interview where the radio announcers guest was reccomending an alternate method of execution. Outrageously this guest suggested a family member might form part of the fireing squad. I believe in freedom of speech and opinion but this sort of violent, cruel and babaric rhetoric has exhausted my patience. What is happening to the world? Certainly I empathise with the families and victims of crime; but execution? surely we should be 'fixing' as best we can these problems NOT executing (possibly innocent prisoners) and simultaneously obliterating our hard won values in order to take revenge on those criminals who have effectively been let down by our community. That's my opinion, what are you going to do, shoot me?
